SARAI HINES
Tuff Dogs sponsored Sarai Hines' journey on the Spirit of Bermuda.
Article from the Royal Gazette
Pictures speak more easily than words for young artist Sarai Hines, who found new uses for her painting talent on the latest voyage of the Spirit of Bermuda. The 16-year-old has just graduated from Saltus with honours, plus the coveted Hinson Cooper prize as the year’s most promising art student. Sarai called building new homes and face-painting with children in the Dominican Republic “a lifetime experience”.

BERMUDA HOCKEY

Tuff Dogs sponsored the women's hockey team for the 2009 Pan Am Cup held in Bermuda. Eight teams from the America’s region competed for a spot in the women’s world cup. Teams finishing 2nd – 6th were each invited to various other world cup qualifying tournaments to be played with teams from other regions. The Pan Am Cup is the premiere event in the region.
We also sponsored the golf tournament which was held to raise funds for the Bermuda Women’s team to compete in the 2011 Pan Am Challenge in Rio De Janeiro in Brazil. There has been a new format in the region with only the top six ranking countries gaining automatic berths in the Pan Am Cup. The remaining countries will square off in Rio De Janeiro with the top two teams qualifying for the Pan Am Cup

THE YOUNG BYES

Tuff Dogs sponsored the 4th Annual U19 Rugby Golf Classic Fundraiser at Belmont Golf Course on May 7th 2011. Money raised was put towards uniforms, visiting teams, training expenses, and going to Cayman to defend their title as defending NACRA U19 Caribbean Champions.
About the Young Byes
The BRFU, working closely with the Teachers RFC, have taken the initiative to take rugby into all the local secondary schools to help develop a stronger youth rugby team here on the island. Recently a coaching clinic was done at Berkeley with the Senior 1 year & Mount St. Agnes with plans to duplicate this event at Cedarbridge Academy.
Over the years the youth team has played together in a series of games with teams from Canada, USA, Britain, Mexico and the Caribbean. With each game the “Young Byes” performance has improved thanks to their hard work at training and dedication to the game of Rugby. In 2010 the U19 Bermuda Youth Rugby Squad won the U-19 Caribbean NACRA Championship in Bahamas. They recently won a Special Recognition Award from the Bermuda Government at the Sports Awards in recognition of their achievement.
